Tara Maloney

Tara Maloney is a dedicated therapist with a background in therapeutic coaching, recovery support, and community-based programming. She has experience working with young adults, individuals on the Autism Spectrum, and people navigating substance use recovery. Currently completing her Master of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Tara integrates approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to support clients in building coping skills, resilience, and self-acceptance.Tara has facilitated LGBTQ+ processing groups and is especially passionate about providing affirming care for LGBTQ+ individuals, recognizing and honoring the unique challenges and strengths within these communities. She brings warmth, openness, and creativity into her sessions, helping clients feel seen and supported in their growth.With a background in both psychology and theater, Tara values creativity and expression as powerful tools in healing. Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys theater, the arts, and exploring ways that creative practices can enhance wellbeing and foster connection.
